Internship Description
Are you passionate about meaningful communication and curious about how finance can be a force for good? Join the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV) as a Knowledge & Communications Intern and help us amplify the work of pioneering banks building a more sustainable future.
In this role, you’ll help build a growing library of best practices that showcases how our global network of values-based banks is turning principles into action. By exploring publicly available materials, such as member websites, social media and annual or impact reports, you’ll identify and distil key examples of innovative products, partnerships and services. These insights will feed into our internal knowledge base and external communications.
You’ll play a vital role in curating and tagging these examples in our database, uploading images and concise summaries to illustrate their relevance and real-world impact. Some of these contributions may also be developed into full-length articles, interviews or case studies for our website, our induction programme or our presentations, among others.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to
- Research member banks’ digital channels and reports to identify best banking practices aligned with values-based banking.
- Extract and curate real-world examples that reflect innovation, sustainability and community impact in banking.
- Upload best practices into our internal digital library and keep it updated.
- Help shape these findings into accessible, engaging public content and case studies for the GABV website and other channels.
- Identify other relevant content (case studies, interviews, stories) from our member banks for newsletters, events, content production, etc.
Profile
- Availability of 3-6 months from January 2027, for 16-24 hours/week,
- The completion (or near completion) of a graduate or undergraduate degree in Communications, Journalism, Sustainability, Development Studies, Business, Impact Measurement, or a related field.
- Proficiency in English. Other languages such as Spanish, French, or German are a plus.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Analytical and curious, with an ability to identify key messages and distill complex material into engaging content.
- Culturally aware and able to thrive in an international team.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and enthusiastic about making a positive impact through communication.
You will work directly under our Head of Communications and Marketing, with occasional remote supervision and weekly bilateral feedback sessions. You will take part in the Secretariat’s weekly meetings and monthly team meetings.
Note: Please be aware that we can only consider applicants who are EU nationals studying in the Netherlands, or non-EU nationals with a work permit to work in the Netherlands, who are studying at a Dutch institution and are registered as a student throughout the internship period.
