Job description
Our client is seeking an experienced accountant to undertake a comprehensive year-to-date review and reconciliation of client invoicing across two offshore drilling rigs.
Required experience and competencies
- Strong accounting and financial reconciliation experience, preferably within an offshore drilling contractor or oil and gas services company.
- Good understanding of offshore drilling contracts, day-rate arrangements, contractual billing provisions and associated commercial processes.
- Familiarity with IADC drilling reports, personnel billing sheets, and contractual crew complements versus additional personnel.
- Experience reconciling client call-offs, purchase orders, personnel back-charges, contractual rate schedules and issued invoices.
- Ability to identify duplicate invoicing, incorrect allocations, over/under-recoveries, and other billing discrepancies.
- Advanced Excel skills, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to undertake detailed, line-by-line reconciliations.
Scope and deliverables
- Reconcile all year-to-date invoicing against contractual entitlements, original billing submissions, and supporting documentation.
- Identify and quantify discrepancies, including duplicate charges and incorrectly billed personnel.
- Produce a clear, auditable reconciliation identifying the financial exposure, required corrections and outstanding matters.
The successful candidate must be capable of working independently, engaging with Op's and Finance as necessary, and delivering a structured reconciliation within a short timeframe.
Previous experience with an offshore drilling contractor would be a distinct advantage. This is a hands-on assignment requiring someone who can contribute immediately, with minimal familiarisation or supervision.
