About the job
Electrical Project Engineer
Job description
About the role
As Electrical Project Engineer, you manage projects from the moment Sales hands them over until final commissioning and handover to the customer. You create project schedules with key dates, milestones and risks. You also specify all the materials needed to complete each project on time and within budget.
You design fire detection and suppression systems to specification and produce complete document and drawing packages, including 2D technical and electrical drawings, in line with project requirements and DSPA procedures. You make sure every order is built and commissioned to customer and project specifications. When needed, you train colleagues and customers on site.
As part of the technical department, you're the link between Sales and After-Sales. You work closely with internal teams and external clients so that every project is delivered on schedule and within budget. You report to the General Manager.
Your responsibilities
- Designing and specifying fire suppression systems integrated with PLC/SCADA and DCS systems
- Taking part in HAZOP and SIL studies
- Proposing alternative solutions, evaluating them in different scenarios and calculating their costs
- Working with contractors and suppliers: evaluating proposals, attending Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and overseeing on-site implementation
- On larger projects, working with engineering partners and teams from other DSPA branches, including technical coordination
- Designing with functionality, ease of installation, accessibility and maintainability in mind, so contractors can build to our design without revisions
What we're looking for
- A technical vocational diploma (MBO level 3/4 or equivalent) in a field such as electrical engineering, security engineering or computer engineering. A BMI (fire alarm systems) installation and maintenance certificate is a plus.
- Knowledge of electrical and electronic components and equipment, including diagnostic instruments
- Experience in a fast-paced technical environment is preferred
- Strong organisational skills and a good team player
- The ability to make sound decisions under pressure, always with the customer in mind
- A proactive attitude to safety, including accident prevention and a clean, tidy workplace
- A valid driving licence
- The right to work in the Netherlands
Nice to have
- Experience with fire detection and suppression systems
- Programming experience (function block diagram, structured text)
- Electrical/instrumentation panel design
What we offer
- A competitive salary
- A good workplace with all the tools and resources you need
- A challenging role with lots of freedom
- A fast-growing organisation with short lines of communication
- A pleasant working environment with committed colleagues
