About the job

Hello potential future Oatly employee.

It's us. The original oat drink company. At Oatly, we're on a mission to make it easier for people to eat better and live healthier lives without recklessly taxing the planet's resources. Simple as that.

As the world's leading oat-based dairy alternative company, we're helping drive the shift towards more plant-based consumption.

Sustainability, nutritional health and trust are at the heart of everything we do. We're building a culture that challenges the status quo, supports positive change, and empowers people to make a difference.

Sounds exciting? Then we'd love to hear from you!

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO

The purpose of the Quality Manager role is to secure consistently high standards across all quality and food safety matters. You will own the site’s quality and food safety management system, build a strong food safety culture, and set and drive the site’s quality and food safety strategy and roadmap together with the team.

Some of the things you'll be doing

  • Lead and develop the site Quality function and laboratory team.
  • Drive and continuously strengthen food safety compliance in accordance with BRCGS requirements, GMP standards, and applicable legislation.
  • Lead audits (BRC and other), certifications, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Own CAPA, incident management, traceability, recalls, and crisis response.
  • Monitor quality performance, manage risks, and drive KPI improvements.
  • Provide quality oversight across site operations and change initiatives.

But, you know. These are just the things we can think of right now! This might be the job today, but tomorrow brings more change, so being light on your feet and willing to embrace the unknown is a verrrrrry big help.

In this role, you will report into the Site Manager and the location for this role is Vlissingen.

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO BRING TO THE TABLE

We are looking for you who have at least five years of experience within food safety and quality in the food industry, including experience leading a Quality team and managing quality management systems.

Other key competencies & experiences

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Quality Management, or a comparable discipline.
  • Extensive experience managing BRC compliance and advanced knowledge of HACCP, CIP, hygiene standards, GMP, and hygienic design in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of applicable food legislation and a commitment to keeping your professional knowledge up to date.
  • Experience leading and developing within a Quality function and participating in cross-functional projects.
  • Confidence working with Microsoft Office, ERP systems such as D365, laboratory information systems, and document management systems.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English. Dutch is a plus

WHO WE NEED YOU TO BE

We think your oatsomeness is built on being detail-oriented, organized, and people-focused. You lead with clarity and integrity. You have problem-solving skills essential for identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions and you understand that success depends on the ability to work together to find innovative solutions.

Another bulleted list felt redundant, so we wrote this long sentence with all the ways we sweeten the deal to work with us: 30 days holiday (plus bank holidays), an awesome office (with amazing cappoatccinos and colleagues), cost free pension plan, bike plan, vitality allowance, tools to maintain mental and psychical wellbeing and many more.
