Your new job | About your main responsibilities

EY-Parthenon supports organizations in pursuing investments in organic or acquisitive growth and business improvements. This includes strategy development, operational transformations, restructurings, and guiding IPOs, mergers, and acquisitions. By combining the broad experience within our team with analytical tools and techniques, and by collaborating closely with the global EY-Parthenon network, we help clients make well‑founded decisions. We also support organizations in bringing their strategy, transaction, or transformation to life. Our team is built on a culture that promotes training, entrepreneurship, and creative freedom.

As a consultant, you will be involved from strategy to execution. Through our Graduate Program, you will rotate between various teams and disciplines within Strategy & Execution (S&E). This rotation allows you to work with different teams on a wide range of client challenges, contribute to the development of our practice, and discover where your interests and strengths lie.

You will learn to translate client needs into project tasks and deliverables. Your day-to-day work may involve managing problem‑solving processes, performing analytical activities, or acting as a bridge between team members, partners, or clients.

Examples of work you may be involved in

Diligence

In the pre‑transaction phase, you and your team analyze the target company. You will focus on the market, organization, operations, and technology, identifying opportunities, risks, and potential synergies.

Integration & separation

During integration or separation processes, you help ensure a smooth merger or acquisition. Working closely with clients, you monitor progress and results to maximize value creation.

Corporate strategy

You identify sector information and trends relevant to the client, support the facilitation of strategy sessions, and contribute to developing the final report.

Emerging tech

You work on projects where EY-Parthenon advises clients on how to approach emerging technologies. This includes researching specific technologies and their impact on markets and business operations.

Digital strategy

You map out relevant digital trends and technological solutions for specific clients and sectors. You support client sessions and help develop the strategic recommendations.

M&A agenda

You help clients identify value drivers for potential deals, explore relevant target types, and define possible M&A approaches.

Your new team | About your colleagues and the office

Your team

Within the Strategy & Execution practice of EY-Parthenon, we support clients in determining and implementing their strategy to maximize value creation. Since many strategies remain unexecuted, our key question is always: how can the intended value actually be realized?

We do this through different types of due diligence, validating or designing strategies, or by providing direct support during major carve‑outs or integrations. Our clients operate in sectors such as private equity, energy, financial services, healthcare & life sciences, retail, FMCG, technology, media, and telecom.

Your office

Our Amsterdam office is located at the Zuidas — a dynamic environment home to many leading companies. In our Cross Towers, over 1,500 people walk in every day. For a stunning view of Amsterdam, head to the 22nd floor. Collaboration takes on new meaning in our Wavespace: a high‑tech setting that connects clients and colleagues around the world.

Your skills and strengths | About your unique contribution

A background in Finance is not required, but affinity with the discipline and familiarity with financial terminology is preferred. We invite students and recent graduates with a Master’s degree from a Dutch university in one of the following fields to apply:

Finance, Financial Management, Business Administration, Economics, Econometrics, Computer Science, or Mathematics.

You also bring

  • Experience gained through an internship, board year, or extracurricular activities

  • Fluency in Dutch and English, both spoken and written
  • A demonstrated interest in strategy development and mergers & acquisitions
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to pursue certifications such as CFA, Lean Six Sigma, or a Tech MBA

Ready to shape your future with us? | About your application process

  • For this vacancy, we ask you to upload a motivation letter along with your CV. This gives you the opportunity to show us your drive, motivation, and personality. At EY, we support the use of AI tools like ChatGPT, as long as your own tone and unique personality remain visible.
  • First interview: Before the interview, we’ll ask you to complete an online assessment. Not a standard questionnaire, but a game-based assessment focusing on both your cognitive skills and behavioral preferences. We’ll discuss the results during the interview, which will include a colleague from the relevant department. This mutual introduction is a chance for us to get to know you, and for you to ask any questions you have.
  • Second interview: If we see a match and you’re still enthusiastic, we’ll invite you for a second interview. We’ll dive deeper into the role and other relevant topics. Sometimes, a business case is part of the process. A final interview may also follow.
  • Third interview: You will meet two future colleagues and complete another case interview.
  • Fourth interview: A final conversation with the partner.

We’re a match: You’ll receive an offer and we’ll perform a pre-employment screening. Then your new adventure begins. Welcome to EY!

Research shows that women are less likely to apply if they don’t meet all the criteria. Please feel free to apply even if you don’t meet everything.
