Experience

• A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant area such as Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Process Management, Business Information Management (with specialty IT), Economics or Mathematics.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Appian consultant or Appian developer.
• Nice to have: certification in Appian associate developer, senior developer or lead Developer.
• Good leadership skills, demonstrated by motivating those around you, being proactive, taking initiative and making decisions.
• Experience with one of the following methods is an advantage: model-driven software engineering, Rapid Application Development, Agile, Scrum, DevOps, application architecture, information architecture, integration architecture.
• Real team player with excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Fluent in English.
• Fluent in local language is an advantage.

Our Appian practice consists of passionate consultants, developers, architects and delivery leads who help clients transform critical business processes through intelligent automation, workflow and AI-powered applications. Depending on your experience, you will take ownership of designing, building and delivering enterprise-grade Appian solutions that create measurable business value.

You will work closely with clients, business stakeholders and multidisciplinary delivery teams to solve complex challenges using Appian’s low-code platform. Projects are delivered using Agile ways of working, allowing you to rapidly translate business requirements into working solutions and continuously deliver value. We provide the training, coaching and support needed to help you succeed.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on your level of experience, you may be responsible for:

• Designing, developing, testing and deploying scalable Appian AI powered applications and business process solutions.
• Collaborating with clients and stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into innovative digital solutions.
• Participating in discovery workshops, solution design sessions and agile delivery teams.
• Leading or contributing to Proof of Concepts, transformation initiatives and enterprise AI powered applications.
• Supporting the integration of Appian with enterprise systems, data platforms and emerging AI capabilities.
• Driving continuous improvement, application lifecycle management and operational excellence through DevOps practices.
• Coaching and mentoring junior developers, helping them grow their technical and consulting skills.
• Contributing to the growth of Valcon’s Appian competence through knowledge sharing, innovation and community building.

Experienced?

For more experienced developers (2+ years of experience), you will combine the roles of low-code developer and consultant. You will use your technical expertise, platform knowledge, AI knowledge and development experience to lead a DevOps team and deliver high-quality Appian solutions. You hold Appian certifications that reflect your level of experience. You will specialize in the core components of applications, which are carefully designed in collaboration with the client. In addition, you will be responsible for making decisions on complex technical challenges and fostering an efficient delivery environment for building high quality low-code applications.

We’re currently recruiting Dutch-based Appian Developers, with a preference for Dutch-speaking professionals.

If you are a more experienced developer, additional responsibilities will include:

• To create best-in-class user experiences and intuitive user interfaces, leveraging AI to maximize productivity and business value.
• Understanding broader team and project challenges, such as project planning, best practices, AI and application architecture.
• Support and enable co-workers in fostering an efficient development environment.
• Contributing to the growth of our Appian competence through knowledge sharing, recruitment activities, and marketing or community events.
