About the job
Keep our books accurate across several entities and countries, and help our finance team close faster and with fewer surprises.
About Insify
Insify is a high-growth scale-up backed by €43M in total funding from world-class investors like Accel, Munich Re Ventures, and Formula 1 champion Nico Rosberg. In five years, we've expanded from the Netherlands into France, Germany and Ireland, and we're just getting started. Our mission: become the European leader in AI-powered SME insurance.
We aren't just building a company; we're leading a revolution. Our culture is intense, high-stakes, and mission-driven. We hire smart, ambitious "owners" who possess a relentless drive to win. This is an environment for those who thrive on challenges, value intellectual honesty, and share our mindset of becoming a global category leader.
Our founding team consists of seasoned entrepreneurs who have previously built iconic businesses like HelloFresh, Bloomon, and SumUp. We bring that same bias for speed, scale, and high standards to one of the most structurally broken experiences in financial services. Together, we combine that deep fintech and e-commerce expertise with cutting-edge AI to stay ahead of the curve.
Technology and data are in our DNA, and finance is where a multi-entity, multi-carrier business either holds together or does not. That is why we build our finance function ourselves, with people who know how it can be done better. That means you.
Your role
This is a long-term, part-time role of 16–24 hours per week. You’ll own the day-to-day bookkeeping across our entities and countries, from invoices and reconciliations to month-end closing and VAT. You’ll work closely with a small finance team and with our ops colleagues, who rely on you for questions about payments and billing. Because we build our finance function ourselves, you’ll also have real room to simplify and improve how we work.
We care about skills and experience, not about the path that got you here, so whether you’re building your career or coming back to it, we’d like to hear from you.
What you will do
- Process purchase and sales invoices and prepare payments.
- Keep the ledgers accurate and up to date with timely journal entries.
- Reconcile bank accounts, payroll and intercompany balances.
- Prepare VAT returns and support other tax submissions.
- Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing.
- Prepare information for our external auditors.
- Support ops team members with ad-hoc questions about payments and billing.
- Spot opportunities to make processes simpler and more reliable, and suggest improvements.
Who you are
- You have a bookkeeping or accounting qualification, or a vocational or bachelor’s background in finance.
- You have at least two years of hands-on bookkeeping experience in the Netherlands. It doesn’t matter if that experience was a few years ago.
- You know your way around Dutch GAAP, Dutch VAT and tax, and Dutch compliance requirements.
- You’re comfortable with Excel and accounting software. Experience with Exact Online is a plus.
- You work accurately, stay organised and pay attention to detail.
- You can work independently, are comfortable asking questions and proactive in flagging issues before month-end.
- You communicate clearly in English, both in writing and in conversation. English is our daily working language.
- You can read Dutch well enough to understand a letter from the Belastingdienst. This is a big plus.
What we offer
- A part-time employment contract of 16–24 hours per week, with room to discuss.
- A competitive salary of €45–65k a year for full-time hours, including holiday allowance and depending on your experience, paid pro rata for the hours you work.
- A small finance team with short lines of communication.
- Room for training and development, and opportunities to grow as the company grows.
- An Insify pension plan with a 6% employer contribution.
- A travel allowance for your commute.
- 25 holidays per year, plus 24 December when it falls on a weekday.
- Up to four weeks per year of working remotely.
- A €50 Alleo budget per month.
- Monthly drinks, quarterly offsites and lunch-and-learns.
- A MacBook.
