From journey maps to prototypes, UX Designers at Monkey & River play a key role in shaping digital products that make sense to real people. We look for designers with a strong grasp of user research, interaction design, and usability principles. A degree in design, psychology, human-computer interaction, or a related field is typically expected, along with hands-on experience designing end-to-end user experiences.
What you could do with us
- Conduct user research to identify pain points, behaviours, and opportunities.
- Translate insights into user journeys, personas, and experience maps.
- Design intuitive wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity UI mockups.
- Collaborate with UI designers, developers, and product managers to bring experiences to life.
- Lead usability testing and iterate on designs based on user feedback and behaviour analytics.
- Structure information in logical and user-friendly hierarchies.
- Advocate for accessibility and inclusive design across all projects.
- Help define UX best practices, design systems, and reusable components.
- Present ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What we look for
- Proven experience in UX design with a portfolio that showcases a strong understanding of user-centric design principles.
- Proficiency in UX tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar platforms.
- Strong grasp of wireframing, prototyping, interaction design, and usability testing.
- Experience conducting and synthesising user research.
- Understanding of accessibility best practices and design for inclusivity.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- A detail-oriented mindset paired with creative thinking and problem-solving ability.
- A degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related field is preferred but not required, with strong portfolio evidence.
Bonus Points For
- Experience designing for web applications, mobile apps, or complex user systems.
- Familiarity with Agile workflows and design handoff processes.
- Knowledge of front-end development basics (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) for better design-dev collaboration.
- Comfort with tools like Miro, Maze, Hotjar, or Google Analytics for testing and research.
