Project and Startup & Commissioning Engineer

About the role

You will join a compact, multidisciplinary team based at our Wapenveld headquarters. You’ll work across the full engineering lifecycle, from concept to commissioning, and contribute directly to the development and execution of international digitalisation projects. We value people who think ahead, take initiative, and want to grow with the company. This role includes international travel to customer sites in Europe, the United States, the Middle East and Asia.

What Will You Do?

You will work hands‑on in a wide variety of projects, including:

Ø Engineering & documentation: drafting project plans, functional/detailed specifications, and test documentation.

Ø Configuring HINT software and hardware, including interfaces such as WEB API, ODBC, TCP/IP, OPC, MODBUS and others.

Ø Testing and commissioning HINT systems on‑site or remotely in the cloud.

Ø Supporting customers in their day‑to‑day use of HINT solutions.

Ø Collaborating with clients to evaluate new software features and coordinate development with the HINT software team.

Ø Contributing to product evolution by identifying opportunities for optimization and innovation.

Your technical expertise includes;

OT cybersecurity, including

OT cybersecurity audits
OT cybersecurity architecture design
OT cybersecurity software monitoring

Real‑time equipment data interfaces, such as

Modbus
OPC‑DA
OPC‑UA

Maintenance software, including configuration, monitoring, and reporting of plant equipment.

Where Will You Work?

Your time will be spent roughly 80% in the office and 20% on client locations. Because our software is cloud‑based, you can support customers worldwide, whether they are in Europe, the United States, the Middle East, or Asia.

You will work in a hybrid model

3 days per week at our inspiring forest‑side office in Wapenveld
1–2 days from home, with all necessary equipment provided

About You

Technically strong, bachelor’s degree in industrial automation, software engineering, instrumentation, process engineering, or similar.
Experienced, 3+ years in software/hardware engineering, cybersecurity, industrial automation, networking infrastructure, or measurement technologies.
Analytical & curious, you enjoy solving complex technical challenges.
A clear communicator, fluent in English and confident with customers and colleagues.
Proactive & future‑oriented, you take initiative and like improving processes and products.
Internationally minded, comfortable working with global clients and traveling when needed.
A team player, collaborative yet self‑reliant.
Growth‑driven, ready to develop yourself and make impact in a fast‑moving company.
