Business Development Consultant | Airport Systems & Baggage Handling

Location: Remote (Europe)

Contract Length: Initial 6-month contract with possible extension

Start Date: ASAP

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Consultant with a strong background in airport systems, baggage handling solutions, logistics, or material handling technologies. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, developing commercial strategies, and driving growth across international airport and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the airport systems and baggage handling sector across global markets.
• Work closely with engineering, operations, and delivery teams to develop commercially and technically viable solutions.
• Prepare commercial proposals, financial models, and tender submissions for large-scale projects.
• Lead contract negotiations and support the successful closure of strategic opportunities.
• Contribute to the development and positioning of software and technology solutions related to baggage handling and airport operations.
• Define and execute business development strategies in collaboration with senior leadership.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with airports, operators, system integrators, and key industry stakeholders.
• Establish strategic partnerships to support end-to-end airport and logistics solutions.
• Collaborate with operational teams to achieve revenue growth and commercial objectives.

Required Experience

• Proven business development, sales, or commercial management experience within one or more of the following areas:
• Airport Systems
• Baggage Handling Systems (BHS)
• Material Handling Solutions
• Industrial Automation
• Logistics Technology
• Large-Scale Infrastructure Projects
• Strong track record of managing complex sales cycles and negotiating high-value contracts.
• Experience with international tenders, bids, and large project opportunities.
• Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders at executive level.
• Comfortable working in a highly international environment with occasional travel as required.

Ideal Candidate

• Commercially driven with a strong understanding of airport operations and baggage handling environments.
• Strong relationship builder with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Able to bridge technical and commercial discussions effectively.
• Experience working with airports, operators, integrators, or technology providers within the aviation sector is highly desirable.
