_________
Within the Tax & Law service line, the Tax Technology Office architects and operates a unified technology, data and AI ecosystem that accelerates innovation without compromising trust. You work on both client missions in AI and technology, helping organizations move beyond pilots into industrialized, auditable solutions, and on internal business-critical platforms that reshape the way our own Tax & Law service line operates, always with governance embedded by design rather than bolted on afterwards. From identification to deployment, measured in time saved, quality improved and value created. In this role you join our Technology Legal & Compliance pillar, working hand in hand with colleagues in Solution Development & Service Management and Innovation & Adoption.”
Your role
As a Junior Technology Governance & Compliance Officer, you will help technology and AI innovation move from idea to deployment in a controlled, transparent and efficient way. You will support the governance of conventional technology solutions, third-party tools, automations and AI agents across the Belgian Tax & Law service line, making sure each of them goes through the necessary checks, such as the Tax Technology Approval Roadmap (TTAR) and the Agent Acceptance Process (AAP). Working closely with the TTO’s legal and technology governance leads and with colleagues in technology, Tax Quality, Risk Management, Information Security, Privacy, Independence and Procurement, you will coordinate documentation and follow-up, maintain reliable governance records and help improve the underlying workflows. You coordinate and prepare; formal assessments and approvals remain with the accountable business owners and specialist review functions. You will learn on the job, supported by experienced colleagues who will guide you in a dynamic and collaborative team.
Your responsibilities
- Coordinate the intake and follow-up of Belgian Tax & Law technology and AI governance requests, from initial idea or demand through to documented completion.
- Support project teams in identifying and navigating the applicable governance processes.
- Gather and structure business, functional and technical information, and help prepare complete, consistent and evidence-based submissions.
- Maintain an accurate overview of solutions, ownership, approval status, open actions, review dates, evidence and remediation items.
- Work with business owners, developers and specialist reviewers to clarify responsibilities, dependencies and next steps, and move requests efficiently through the appropriate approval channels.
- Monitor deadlines, follow up proactively, and escalate unresolved issues or bottlenecks to the appropriate owner.
- Support governance activities throughout the solution lifecycle, including onboarding, material changes, periodic reviews and decommissioning.
- Improve templates, decision trees, trackers, dashboards, playbooks and guidance materials so that teams can navigate governance requirements more consistently.
- Explore responsible ways to use automation and AI to support document preparation, completeness checks, knowledge retrieval and reporting, while preserving appropriate human review.
- Help build governance awareness across the TTO and the wider Tax & Law practice through practical guidance, communications and knowledge sessions.
- Work in a dynamic and international environment, collaborating with both local and global specialists to deliver pragmatic and compliant solutions.
This is you
- You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in law, business, technology, information management, risk, compliance or a related field, or have equivalent relevant experience.
- You are a recent graduate or have up to three years of relevant professional experience. A first experience in ICT, compliance, risk or quality management is a plus, but not required.
- You communicate excellently in writing and speaking in Dutch or French (native level) and are strongly proficient in English. Working knowledge of the second national language is an asset.
- You understand technology concepts, process flows and solution documentation, without necessarily being a software developer.
- You have a strong interest in AI, automation and emerging technology, combined with a willingness to understand their legal, ethical, security and quality implications.
- You pay close attention to detail and to the quality of evidence and documentation.
- You can manage several cases and deadlines at the same time and remain composed under pressure.
- You are confident in following up with senior stakeholders and have good judgement on when to escalate.
- You are a team player with a service-oriented, problem-solving mindset, curious about both business processes and technology.
- You are self-motivated, flexible and well-organised, and you thrive in an evolving environment where guidance is not always complete.
