(Senior) Utility Automation Engineer – Pharmaceutical Production Site

Your role

As a (Senior) Utility Automation Engineer, you play a key role in a long-term PLC project at a leading pharmaceutical production site. You take the lead in delivering automation solutions for utility systems and act as the technical link between engineering, operations and suppliers. You are fully dedicated to this client and involved from specification through to FAT and SAT.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of engineers, ensuring the successful delivery of automation solutions for utility systems.
• Act as the primary point of contact for operations, providing technical guidance and resolving automation-related issues.
• Oversee and coordinate suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of equipment and services while introducing new technologies to optimise performance.
• Draft comprehensive technical documentation, including Scopes of Work (SoW), User Requirement Specifications (URS) and Functional Design Specifications (FDS).
• Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), ensuring compliance with all specifications and regulations.

Your profile

• Proven experience as an Automation Engineer in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong knowledge of PLC systems (Siemens) and automation of utility systems.
• Experience in leading engineers and coordinating suppliers.
• Experience in drafting SoW, URS and FDS documentation and executing FAT/SAT.
• Good knowledge of GMP in a regulated environment.
• A structured, proactive and communicative way of working.
• Fluent in English; Dutch is a strong plus.
