About the job

Job Summary

The Senior Manager / Capability Lead – Transaction Monitoring (TM) will own and grow HCL’s TM capability for banking clients, combining deep FCC domain expertise with hands-on TM platform experience and a transformation mindset. The role drives TM strategy, solution design, optimization, and governance, and takes market-ready TM solutions to clients through consulting-led engagements and delivery excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1) Capability (What you will own)

  • Lead end-to-end Transaction Monitoring capability for banking clients: strategy, solution design, transformation, delivery, and governance.
  • Define and execute TM transformation roadmaps (process, people, data, technology) with measurable outcomes (alert quality, TAT, cost, control effectiveness).
  • Build reusable capability assets: typology library, scenario catalog, tuning playbooks, governance templates, KPI/KRI dashboards.
  • Take capability to market: lead client workshops, assessments, proposals, and solutioning for new/existing opportunities.
  • Leverage AI/ML and GenAI to modernize TM (e.g., intelligent alert triage, case prioritization, investigator-assist narratives, typology discovery/network analysis, continuous tuning), ensuring strong model governance and regulatory defensibility.

2) Domain Expertise (What you must understand deeply)

  • Strong AML/CTF and FCC knowledge across banking products/channels: Retail, Corporate, Payments, Cards, Trade, Correspondent, Digital.
  • Deep expertise in typologies and emerging trends (e.g., mule networks, funnel accounts, layering, TBML indicators, high-risk corridors, sanctions evasion signals, digital payments abuse).
  • Strong grasp of L2 investigations, case progression, escalation decisions, and writing high-quality narratives.
  • Hands-on understanding of SAR/STR filing expectations and regulatory nuances: audit readiness, exam responses, issue remediation, and change control.

3) Hands-on System Experience + End-to-End TM Delivery (What you can execute)

  • Proven hands-on experience with TM tools/platforms such as Actimize, SAS AML, Oracle FCCM, NICE/Fiserv or similar.
  • Expertise in TM engine fine-tuning: scenario/rule calibration, thresholds, segmentation, suppressions, lookbacks, testing/UAT, and post-implementation monitoring.
  • Demonstrated ability to reduce false positives and improve true-positive yield through segmentation & threshold optimization, scenario rationalization/coverage mapping, data quality & enrichment, investigator feedback loops, and performance analytics (KPIs/KRIs).
  • Full lifecycle ownership: requirements → design → build/config → testing → deployment → governance → BAU handover.

Solution Ownership / Go-to-Market Expectations

  • Package TM capability as a market-ready solution: value proposition, operating model, implementation roadmap, benefits case, and delivery approach.
  • Lead client-facing discussions on current-state assessments, gap analysis, target-state design, and transformation planning.

Drive outcomes that balance customer experience, regulatory needs, and efficiency across front-to-back FCC operations
