Want a finance role where your work goes well beyond month-end reporting? This is an opportunity to shape investment decisions, challenge budgets and help steer the performance of an established energy business with operations across the Netherlands.
Job description
You'll work closely with the Finance Manager and operational teams on everything from production costs and capital projects to joint ventures and long-term planning. It's a broad role with real visibility: your analysis will help people decide where to invest, how to manage risk and what comes next.
What you'll take on
- Own and challenge budgets and forecasts across CAPEX, OPEX and G&A, turning the numbers into clear recommendations.
- Support investment proposals, project economics, business cases and long-range planning.
- Manage the finance side of operated joint ventures, including reporting, approvals, cost recovery and audits.
- Analyse profitability and cash flow and contribute to decommissioning and reserve reporting.
- Oversee key areas of financial control, including tax accounting, fixed assets, asset retirement obligations, inventory and compliance reporting.
- Partner with the accounting team on financial statements and month-end matters, while improving processes and reporting.
What you'll bring
You have 5-10 years of progressive experience in finance, controlling, accounting or FP&A, and you're comfortable moving between detailed financial work and conversations with business leaders. You can challenge assumptions, explain what the numbers mean and follow an issue through to a practical decision.
Experience in energy, oil and gas, natural resources or another capital-intensive industry would be valuable. Joint venture accounting, project finance or Big Four audit experience would also be an advantage. You'll need a relevant degree and strong Excel skills; an RA, RC or equivalent accounting qualification is welcome. Experience with Power BI, Snowflake or similar tools is a plus.
What's in it for you
Alongside a monthly salary, the package includes 8% holiday allowance, a 13th month, a performance bonus and additional benefits. You'll have hybrid working options, development opportunities and a role with scope to influence decisions across the business.
